Ridgewood NJ, Reader said last night , “All Bottled Water flying off the shelves by the case fulls at 2 supermarkets this evening in Glen Rock and Ridgewood/Paramus. Wondered why, the shoppers, said they got a phone call from their schools saying everyone was to have their child bring their own bottled water to school for tomorrow, also, to bring the bottled antibacterial hand soap. Shopping carts were to the brim with cases of bottled water and shelves going bare. Stock workers in both stores were bringing out more loads to put on shelves, as cases were given directly to people waiting for the bottled water.”
This is why I love reading the blog. That was very informative. Thanks for posting. (I’m using paper plates, bowls, and cups today.)
God forbid if something really bad happens in ridgewood the Snowflakes will lose their minds.

Mass panic and hysteria over absolutely nothing. The water supply was not contaminated, period. What are these people going to do when the bomb drops? They’ll be jumping off of roofs of buildings in the CBD.

From now on, I’ll be buying bottled water for drinking. The Poland Springs water site lists their complete water report and it takes good.
No contact from VC until 5:00 yesterday. Horrible communication. The schools found out about it Wed night. I learned about it from Channel 2 news. It was newsworthy enough for network news but not important enough for the VC to contact residents. They only find you when they need you to do something for them like move your garbage cans or leaves. What is happening with the VM search? The communication by this council is terrible.
Anyone would be foolish to buy bottled water on a regular basis. $$$ and regulations on bottled water quality are lower than for tap water. Your best bet would be getting an under-the-kitchen-sink water filter like the two-stage one from aquasana.
