Drivers, especially those operating high-profile vehicles, should exercise caution as strong winds can make driving difficult. Additionally, it’s advised to secure outdoor objects to prevent damage or injury.
A Flood Watch is now in effect from 4 PM EDT this afternoon through late tonight for portions of northeast New Jersey and southeast New York. This includes areas such as Eastern Bergen, Eastern Essex, Eastern Passaic, Eastern Union, Hudson, Western Bergen, Western Essex, Western Passaic, Western Union, as well as Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), New York (Manhattan), and more.
Excessive rainfall may lead to flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and low-lying areas. Urban and poor drainage areas are particularly at risk. Additional rainfall of 2-3 inches is forecast, with higher totals possible. Higher rainfall rates this evening and early tonight may exacerbate flooding concerns.
