ABC Gives Sen. Menendez Six Minute Interview With No Questions About FBI’s Hooker Investigation

On Friday it was revealed that the FBI is investigating Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) for allegedly sleeping with underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic.
Despite this, when Menendez was given a six-minute interview with Martha Raddatz on ABC’s This Week Sunday, he was not asked one question about the investigation or the allegations (

The story lacks evidence and is viewed as a rumor. The two women identified him from a photo – who was doing photo lineups with prostitutes in the DR? Someone was seeking out the prostitutes for info. What was the goal of this individual investigating Menendez?
No crime was reported because prostitution is legal in DR. It is not like he did a tapdance in the men’s room of a US airport soliciting illegal sex.
If it were a Republican the question would have been asked based on the so-called rumor you mention. The media would not have the kid-gloves out.
Just because something is legal in another country does not mean that it is not wrong. According to you, it would be OK for Mr. Menendez to go to another country and kill someone for sport as long as it was legal to do so there.
#2. Killing people for sport? Just admit that you did not have a rational response.
Prostitution is also legal in some parts of the US.
News programs are not supposed to repeat gossip. They attempt to independently verify information, otherwise they can’t report on it. Internet “news” sites do not have a standard. Rumors, gossip and lies are treated the same ln the internet. If a story is repeated enough times it must be true.
