The Air Brook Limousine Company’s Newark Airport Shuttle Service, which had operated from the Park & Ride facility on Route 17 in Ridgewood for decades, closed its doors abruptly within the past few months. An Avis Rental Car franchise, which had shared office space with Air Brook, also terminated operations. Neither Air Brook nor Avis has publicly disclosed why their operations were both closed in Ridgewood.
The property previously occupied by Air Brook and Avis is owned by the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT). NJDOT leases their entire Route 17 parcel, with the exception of a small area occupied by a NJDOT salt shed & maintenance facility, to the Village of Ridgewood. The Village had sublet space to Air Brook; Air Brook in turn sublet some of its space to Avis.
As of this writing , the Village has been mum on what plans are underway to find a new tenant(s) for the now vacant small office and large parking area located in the southwest corner of the Route 17 Park & Ride facility.
The Village’s Park & Ride lot will continue to function as will the Park & Ride facility operated by Coach USA (which Coach USA sublets from the Village).

CAN YOU SAY: “AFFORDABLE HOUSING?”
Another boarded up crap hole that is Ridgewood
The parking lot is in bad shape. The hole place needs to be redone. What a mess.
The trailer should be demolished it’s all rotted. The place is full of mold.
I think we need to come up with a new development at the site. Maybe utilizing half of that site parking , other half maybe village usage. This is our opportunity.
