It sure sounds as though it might pay to rent out that extra bedroom.
Airbnb announced that New Jersey’s 6,100 active hosts earned over $50 million dollars in supplemental income in 2016 by welcoming approximately 257,000 visitors to the Garden State. This figure represents a 100 percent year-over-year increase in inbound guest arrivals, according to the company.
The company says a typical host in New Jersey earns $6,200 annually. The typical listing is occupied 44 nights per year and the average length of stay is 4.2 nights.
Yeah but you can’t do it in Ridgewood. Better move.
The ordinance is in place and thank goodness. Protests are pointless. The rights of the home owner are restricted in many ways, and this is now one of them. The rights of one’s neighbors and the rest of the village have to count. This ship has sailed.
Who says I can’t
My post has been up since last May and I’m still waiting for someone from the village to show up at my door trying to enforce the recently enacted and illegal ordinance. And guess what’s? No one has showed. And they never will,
The ordinance has no teeth – would love to see the Village try to defend it in court, except that would be an obvious waste of taxpayer funds. Moron is posting above again.
