Dear

As New Jersey prepares for the first storm of 2021, we are writing to provide you important information regarding vaccine appointments over the next two days.

Due to the storm, we expect most, if not all, vaccine sites to be closed on Monday. Depending on the extent of the storm, operations of vaccine sites on Tuesday may also be disrupted.

Therefore, if you have an appointment for a first or second dose on Monday, that appointment will be rescheduled. If you made your appointment through NJVSS, you will receive a cancellation notice later today, and by the end of the week you will receive notice of your rescheduled appointment. If you made your appointment through another system, rescheduling should take place through that same system.

If you are waiting on NJVSS notification of your second appointment, those appointments will be sent out as soon as the extent of the storm’s disruption of operations is fully known.

We ask all those who have Tuesday appointments scheduled through NJVSS to look for additional emails should cancellations be required.

Please note, that while the recommended time between first and second doses is 21 days for Pfizer and 28 days for Moderna, the CDC has issued guidelines on delayed 2nd dose administration. We will be working to make sure everyone gets their second dose within the acceptable time frame.

While we continue to prioritize our vaccination program, your safety in a storm is our first priority for the next couple of days. We will be following up with additional information regarding NJVSS rescheduled appointments and second dose appointments. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Thank you,

New Jersey Department of Health
