Ridgewood NJ, councilmen Ramon Hache gave us an update on the Valley Hospital Litigation and what it means for the Village of Ridgewood . According to the councilmen , “On December 29, 2017, the New Jersey Department of Health granted The Valley Hospital a Certificate of Need to relocate its acute care and inpatient facility from Ridgewood to Paramus. The Village Council did not receive a copy of the Department of Health letter via email until January 22, 2018. The granting of the Certificate of Need now puts into play certain factors of the settlement agreement pertaining to the existing Ridgewood campus.”

Hache goes on , “During the 120 days that follow, the Village Planning Board will be working to adopt an amendment to the H zone ordinance that will make the existing Ridgewood facility conforming as to the existing bulk dimensions and size of the current facility to satisfy the terms of the settlement agreement. Simply put, this will allow interior and exterior changes to be made to the existing Ridgewood facility buildings as long as no additional square footage or height is added to the existing buildings. A copy of the settlement agreement is available upon request to the Village. “

  1. Only in Ridgewood does it take 10+ years to arrive at a sane conclusion about how big is too big. Valley condescended to, harassed and gaslit our community only to be told to move to Paramus and shut up. Hope the developers working on the apartment complexes are paying attention.

  2. Get ready for a decade of construction to turn the hospital into a colonoscopy factory. Under court order now so Valley doesnt even have to waste money making it attractive or to try to make it blend in.

  3. Drug Rehab. Opioid Crisis!

  4. This is going to hurt the villager Ridgewood. Big mistake in the end you will see. Think about all the visitors that come in the valley from other towns that going to the CBD and spend money shopping lunch dinner etc. do you s Think about all the visitors that come in the valley from other towns that going to the CBD and spend money shopping lunch dinner etc. u will see , sell your home and move out .

  5. Hey 7:43, how could they spend all that money in the business district??
The council swears there is no place to park!

  6. 12:46 – That type of vindictive behavior is what we’ve come to expect from Valley and its supporters.

  7. 7:15–i’m not a supporter. thats my point. Valley will extract its revenge. Question is can we do anything to mediate the ramifications?

  8. Listen up people valley hospital group won the battle in the war, how you ask well they are moving headquarters to Paramus building a larger footprint that they can do in Ridgewood OK, how did Ridgewood lose the war and battle well didn’t valley by up a lot of buildings in town, and guess what didn’t the village lose a lot of tax money on those sites . Wasn’t there a study group that went over all the sites the valley bought and how much money the village lost, I believe it was big big money. And you know what in the end Valley can shut down the Richwood site anytime they want and let it go to shit and put up a big 20 foot fence around the whole site. They can do it, who’s going to stop them, and then when it’s an eyesore residents will be Crying a river. And Vin the story will begin they will build lowing come housing halfway houses yeah never say never. There’s a lot of politicians that pull a lot of weight and they hate working in Ridgewood because all the dirty business that’s been going on in the past that set up at cats out of the bag my Little flower think about it doesn’t sound too far fetched does it. Have a great day while you’re sipping your seven dollar cup of coffee .

  9. This is going to get interesting. Can valley sell that land. Maybe the villager Ridgewood should buy it. And put all Village complex is there. At least they will not be in a flood zone. Ouch ,

  10. Eye Ball, please reread your posts. Hard to follow all the mistakes in grammar and spelling.

  11. Hey Eye Ball a little early in the morning to be drinking and posting.

  12. Why is Valley being allowed to take every purchase off the tax rule? Dr.’s offices, Health Centers, etc. are all considered separate from actual hospital property. Valley is paying Paramus in lieu of taxes for that whole new building. Valley has a lot of property in Ridgewood and they should be made to pay us the same in lieu of taxes. We let them get by with murder for years. Paramus wouldn’t accept that so why do we?
