The speedy gunman who wore dark clothes and gloves first hit a Paramus BP Station at 220 Route 4 about 10:40 p.m, then a Fair Lawn 7-Eleven, and finally a Mahwah Valero and Sunoco between 10:40 and 11:10 p.m..The gunman filled up with gas, and then pulled a handgun and stole $400 from the attendant.
Minutes later the gunman appeared at a Fair Lawn 7-Eleven store on 31-28 Broadway, where he grabbed items from the shelves then hid in a bathroom. When other customers had cleared out, the man burst out of the bathroom, whipped out a handgun and demand cash from the female clerk, making off with $2,500 in cash and fled east on Broadway.
About 20 minutes later, Mahwah Police received back-to-back reports of armed robberies at the Valero and then the Sunoco stations on Route 17. At the Valero, the gunman once again whipped out a gun and demanded cash from the register and an attendant before driving away onto Route 17.
The robber then hit the Sunoco register and disappeared . Officials confirmed the same person is suspected in each of the four robberies. Fair Lawn, Paramus and Mahwah police are investigating the robberies. Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to call police.
