The state’s judicial ethics board has filed a complaint against a Superior Court judge who served in Bergen, Passaic and Essex counties for misusing judicial resources — including making an employee do her son’s homework — and other integrity violations.
The complaint alleges that Deborah M. Gross-Quatrone forced a law clerk to start working several weeks prior to the official start date, secretly recorded meetings with senior judges and made a staff member attend to her personal business, including doing her son’s high school homework.

PolitickerNJ has learned that Comedian-Actor-Radio Host Joe Piscopo summoned Tony Perry to his residence in Hunterdon County last weekend. Perry is the Chief of Staff to State Senator Joe Kyrillos (R-Middletown). Piscopo, the morning drive time host on AM970, became highly associated with the Garden State via his Paulie Herman character (“I’m from Jersey”) and Frank Sinatra impressions on Saturday Night Live. He has been frequently mentioned as a possible candidate for governor this year, either as a Republican or Independent.

Councilmen Voigt said that the Financial Advisory Committee was putting together an analysis of parking garage and how to pay for it, and working on an analysis of Village fees.
Deputy Mayor Michael Sedon in what may come as a surprise to many said the Village council has been looking to advance a Garage on Hudson street for months, the Village council will roll out a 3 story garage plan with a modified conceptual design that fits on the property and takes into account all the criticism of previous Garagezilla.
Councilmen Ramon Hache said the Central business advisory committee floated the idea of a local merchant reward card, earning credits against tax liabilities
Mayor Susan Knudsen reiterated that Village boards are for people invested in the community and to represent the Village of Ridgewood.
In what can be can only be considered a major breakthrough, in parking, the restrictions have been removed from backing into spaces.
Residents will be relieved to note that the fees will remain unchanged for Graydon Pool and Ridgewood Tennis this summer.
And finally the council also passed a new ordinance regulating the “Water Irrigation Schedule and Water Emergencies”. The new ordinance limits watering of lawns for both governmental and non-governmental properties to two days per week, year-round. Irrigation by a hand-held hose or drip/micro irrigation system is allowed any day. Defines the exceptions to this ordinance as well as the hours when watering of lawns is permitted, and enforcement policies and procedures.

For commuters navigating congested platforms at Penn Station New York, the definition of frustration is looking at four brand new sets of stairs for almost a year that they can’t use.
The new staircases and a new West End Concourse were built as part of the $148 million first phase of a project to convert the Farley Post Office on Eighth Avenue into Moynihan Station. The Moynihan annex was supposed to have a fall 2016 opening date. The stairwells connect the concourse to platforms 3,4,5 and 6 which serve two tracks each.
While NJ Transit commuters are stuck in pedestrian gridlock on the platform, Long Island Rail Road commuters have been able to use a section of the new West End Concourse. That section of the new concourse is open during the morning and afternoon commuter rush and closed for work during midday.

Multiple basketball players at the center of a broadening scandal at Paterson Eastside High entered the school with transcripts that were incomplete, altered or fraudulent, NJ Advance Media has learned.
In two cases, transcripts for Nigerian student-athletes did not match their previous stop at a private school in northern Idaho, according to documents obtained by NJ Advance Media and interviews with school officials.
The most brazen example shows a player’s transcript from 2012-13 — when he would have been in the equivalent of the sixth grade — was crudely forged and presented as his work for the 2015-16 school year in Nigeria, even though he was enrolled in Idaho. While the class year on the barely readable transcript was changed, the player’s classes, grades and academic standing were all left the same.

New Jersey’s Medicaid program, the health insurance plan that covers nearly one in every five residents, is in desperate need of modernization to better serve patients and provide them higher-quality care while remaining financially sustainable in the years to come.
That’s the assessment of a diverse group of healthcare stakeholders convened more than a year ago by the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute to review the massive program, explore successful efforts in other states, and recommend reforms to improve the delivery of Medicaid in the Garden State. Representatives of the group, whose work was funded by the Nicholson Foundation, unveiled on Monday the results of their work: the Medicaid 2.0 Blueprint, a detailed plan with 24 specific recommendations designed to make the system more efficient, better integrated, and more responsive to patient needs.

TRENTON — Seniors and citizens who benefit from New Jersey’s Senior Freeze property tax relief program could receive credits against their real estate bills instead of rebates under a bill in the Legislature.
The Assembly State and Local Government Committee on Monday approved the bill, which would convert the Senior Freeze reimbursements into credits — a change the sponsors said would cut state administrative costs and spare eligible homeowners from having to pay the full bill before receiving a reimbursement check in the following tax year.
The Senior Freeze programs is slated to help offset property tax increases for about 166,000 property owners this fiscal year.
To be eligible for the Senior Freeze program, you must be 65 or older or receiving Social Security benefits and have lived in the state for 10 years. Other requirements, including income limits, apply.

TRENTON — Former Gov. Jon Corzine was blasted as the “mastermind” behind MF Global Holdings Ltd.’s collapse inside a Manhattan federal courtroom on Tuesday, according to published reports.
A lawyer representing the accounting firm PwC in a $3 billion trial over who’s to blame in MF Global’s down fall told jurors that Corzine should be held to account.
“Its bankruptcy was caused by its risky trading, its unprofitable business and other problems” said James Cusick, a lawyer for PwC, according to Bloomberg. “Mr. Corzine was the mastermind and the driver of that strategy.”
Gov. Chris Christie unseated Corzine in the 2009 gubernatorial election. After the election, MF Global hired Corzine, the former CEO of Goldman Sachs, to help engineer a turnaround of the firm’s collapse.
MF Global collapsed in 2011 after a disastrous bet on European countries’ debt.
Ridgewood NJ, the Trump jump continues with companies adding more jobs than expected in February. There was also a notable shift away from the service-sector positions that have dominated hiring for years.
President Trump had tweeted on Monday, “There is an incredible spirit of optimism sweeping the country right now—we’re bringing back the JOBS!”
ADP and Moody’s Analytics reported today that the private sector surged by 298,000 for the month, with goods producers adding 106,000, Construction jobs jumping 66,000 and manufacturing added 32,000.
The 298,000 total shattered market expectations of 190,000, according to economists surveyed by ADP.
Trump tweeted this morning, “LinkedIn Workforce Report: January and February were the strongest consecutive months for hiring since August and September 2015”
