River Edge NJ, Baronfest Beer Festival is back! On Saturday, September 30th (rain date October 1st) from 1 to 6 p.m., spend a lovely autumn afternoon filled with beer, food, history, and family fun at Historic New Bridge Landing, River Edge!

Sep 30, 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM

River Edge, 1209 Main St, River Edge, NJ 07661, USA

Come celebrate the birthday of American Revolutionary War hero, Major General Baron Von Steuben, member of Washington’s staff, author of the first US Army Manual, and the drillmaster of Valley Forge, who made the Continentals into a fighting force to take on Britain’s Imperial Army.

With a nod to the Baron’s German birth, enjoy the craft beers of Bergen, including the wares of Alementary Brewing, Brix City Brewery, and Hackensack Brewery. Have a nosh from the food vendors or our tavern menu while you enjoy the music of Particle Theory, play cornhole and other games with the kids, or browse through our gift shop items. Saunter over to our pumpkin field for free pumpkin picking and decorating for the children.

Is history your thing? Then you’re in luck! The reenactors from Motts Artillery will be firing off cannon and be delighted to talk about life in the Continental Army. You can see demonstrations of broom-making and blacksmithing at the Westervelt-Thomas Barn or colonial cooking in the Out-Kitchen, and take tours of our eighteenth-century houses, guided by our expert interpretive staff, including the Baron’s residence near “the bridge that saved a nation.” Treasures from the historical society’s Revolutionary War collection will be on exhibit, including an edition of the Baron’s Army Manual.

And just for fun, make sure to have your photo taken with the Baron himself before you leave New Bridge!
