Paramus NJ, Bergen Community College Professor Zameer Baksh has been suspended and is facing criminal charges following allegations that he sexually assaulted a student, authorities announced in a statement on Saturday.
Baksh, who has been employed by the college for six years, is accused of inappropriate behavior toward a female student on December 11. According to the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, Baksh allegedly kissed the student on the cheek, made inappropriate comments, and then escalated the incident by “forcefully grabbing and touching her genitalia.”
Charges Filed Against Baksh
Baksh faces charges of criminal sexual contact and harassment-offensive touching. While he has not been booked into the Bergen County jail, the investigation remains ongoing.
Bergen Community College’s Response
As of Saturday evening, the college has not issued a public statement regarding the incident, and calls for comment went unanswered. Baksh’s attorney information was not available, and attempts to reach him via his LinkedIn profile were unsuccessful.
