River Edge NJ, A joint investigation by local law enforcement has led to the arrest of a Bergen County man on multiple criminal counts involving a female juvenile.
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 32-year-old Veera M. Bommireddy of River Edge, New Jersey. The charges follow an intensive investigation spearheaded by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) and the Hackensack Police Department.
The Investigation: Alleged Incident at a Hackensack Business
The case began on Thursday, May 7, 2026, when the Hackensack Police Department contacted the Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged sexual assault.
According to authorities, the subsequent investigation revealed that Bommireddy allegedly attempted to sexually assault a female juvenile. Investigators noted that the incident took place inside a local business in Hackensack, New Jersey, during a time when Bommireddy held supervisory or disciplinary power over the victim.
Serious Charges Filed Against Veera M. Bommireddy
Following the multi-agency probe, law enforcement officials arrested Bommireddy in Hackensack on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. He faces several third-degree charges, including:

Two counts of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact (under New Jersey statute N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3a)

Following his arrest, Bommireddy was remanded to the Bergen County Jail. He has since made his first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court and was released pending further legal proceedings.
