Little Falls Man Arrested Following Special Victims Unit Investigation in Bergen County

Moonachie, NJ , A multi-jurisdictional law enforcement effort has resulted in the arrest of a 37-year-old Passaic County man on multiple criminal counts involving a female juvenile victim.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Marvin A. Nugra Ruiz of Little Falls, New Jersey. The apprehension concludes a month-long investigation spearheaded by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) and the Moonachie Police Department.

The Investigation: Incidents Spanning Multiple NJ Municipalities

The case began on Friday, April 10, 2026, when the Moonachie Police Department initially alerted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office SVU regarding an alleged sexual assault.

The subsequent month-long investigation uncovered a pattern of behavior across multiple towns:

  • Moonachie, NJ: Investigators revealed that Nugra Ruiz allegedly attempted to sexually assault a female juvenile victim inside a local residence in February 2026.

  • Little Falls, NJ: Detectives further determined that an additional incident of criminal sexual contact involving the same victim and Nugra Ruiz had occurred between January 2025 and February 2026.

Arrest and Severe Criminal Charges Filed

On Thursday, May 14, 2026, law enforcement officials located and arrested Nugra Ruiz in Paramus, New Jersey. He faces multiple statutory charges across varying degrees:

  • One count of second-degree sexual assault (under New Jersey statute N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b)

  • Two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child (under New Jersey statute N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1))

  • Three counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact (under New Jersey statute N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3b)

Following his arrest, Nugra Ruiz was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey, where he is currently awaiting his first official appearance in Bergen County Superior Court.

Inter-Agency Law Enforcement Cooperation

The successful investigation and arrest were executed under the supervision of Prosecutor’s Office Chief Jeff Angermeyer and Moonachie Police Chief Richard Behrens.

Prosecutor Musella publicly expressed gratitude to the Moonachie Police Department for their foundational role in the case. He also thanked the Little Falls Police Department and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office for their vital cross-county coordination and assistance.
