Come Home to History: Harvest Homecoming at Historic New Bridge Landing
October 27th, 2019, 1:00 – 5:00 pm, Sunday

• Presentation by Deborah Powell on the new book at 1:30 pm: The Bridge That Saved a Nation, Bergen County, New Bridge and the Hackensack Valley. The illustrated talk takes place in the Steuben House. The book is scheduled to be for sale.
• Bridge tour with BCHS Vice President Kate Reilly, meet at bridge at 3:00 pm
• American Revolution Exhibits & 9 period map enlargements featuring New Bridge
• Children’s activities including making scarecrows, pumpkin picking and painting and Donut Challenge. Children in costume welcome.
• Broom making in the Westervelt-Thomas Barn
• Cooking in the Outkitchen, featuring Apple Fritters and Speck Met Appeltje (apples, cabbage & pork)
• Tavern Refreshments in the Campbell-Christie House including cider donuts
• Tour 3 Jersey-Dutch 18th c. Homes including the Steuben House, a State-Historic Site memorialized for Major General Baron von Steuben

Events brought to you by the Bergen County Historical Society at Historic New Bridge Landing:
American Revolutionary War Battleground including 3 Jersey-Dutch Sandstone Houses, Exhibits, Tavern, Gift shop & Outkitchen. $12 adults, $7 students, BCHS members free.

All three 18th century Homes are connected by a gravel walking path. Free parking is available or take a train on the Pascack Valley Line from Secaucus via NJ Transit to the New Bridge Landing Train stop.
