Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the following information regarding a shooting investigation in Hackensack, NJ.
On Saturday, July 15, 2023 at approximately 8:51 a.m., the Hackensack Police Department responded to a 911 call from CareOne at Wellington, located at 301 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ. Responding officers found 72-year-old Patricia Zaccario and 75-year-old Michael Zaccario (both of 158 Palmer Terrace, Wood-Ridge, NJ) deceased with apparent gunshot wounds. An investigation was then conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer-in-Charge Captain Michael Antista.
The investigation revealed that Michael Zaccario fatally shot his wife, Patricia Zaccario, before succumbing to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Prosecutor Musella would like to thank the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office and the Hackensack Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
