Teaneck NJ, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office is currently investigating a residential fire that occurred in the early hours of Monday morning, which resulted in two individuals being hospitalized.
The first report of the fire at 850 Palisades Ave. was received by the Teaneck Township’s Police Department at 12:30 a.m. First responders from Hackensack assisted the township’s Fire Department at the scene, as stated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
During efforts to extinguish the fire, “multiple residents” were discovered trapped in the basement of the residence. These individuals were subsequently transported to Hackensack University Medical Center for medical treatment. The extent of injuries sustained and the exact number of residents rescued and transported remain unknown at this time.
The investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, led by Acting Chief Matthew Finck, in collaboration with the Teaneck Police Department under the direction of Andrew McGurr.
