Hawthorne NJ, with a Flood Watch in effect scattered instances of Flash flooding were reported all over North Jersey. Rising flood waters trapped two (2) occupants of a partially submerged white colored SUV that was driving in an alleyway behind 85 Wagaraw Road, Hawthorne on Friday morning, 09/29. A high water rescue vehicle owned by the County of Bergen Office of Emergency Management, and staffed by Wyckoff firefighters, was used to remove both individuals from the vehicle and transport them to waiting ambulances. Neither of the occupants was injured; their vehicle remained partially submerged and would likely not be removed until waters receded.
