From my understanding Ridgewood has some parking issues. Well I propose instead of placing ugly parking meters on residential blocks close to downtown that we place a ticket machine
at the ends of each block.
at the ends of each block.
Why build a parking deck when you have space already?
>For Parking lots maybe for E Ridgewood Ave it wouldn’t work.
>This is a bad idea
>I think it is the first decent idea on parking I have heard in a long time …brovo!
>what’s the matter it dosen’t cost enough money …I am sure you guys in the village sinking ship will find away to make it more expensive
>How would you like the PUBLIC parking in front of your house all day and half the night on weekends?
Who do you pay to enforce these type of meters you can’t see without walking right upto the vehicle?
This works in confined parking areas like parking lots but not on the street. It may take an extra 30 seconds a car to do. This can quickly add up to hours in the downtown.
Aren’t any cops out there? Lets have some input on this, you guys would know.
>This works in confined parking areas like parking lots but not on the street.
it works in NYC and in Paris and many towns use it …the public parks infront of my house all day and they get tickets …the ridgewood police do a fine job of writing tickets
>this is used all over europe ,you guys need to get out a bit
>Stop it guys! If it doesn’t cost a lot of money (i.e., an opportunity to wine and dine our council members) then it is not worth even talking about it…
The Village Cynic (don’t even think of using my nom-de-plume, Mr. Village Idiot)
>yes add the ticket machines to a couple of block around down town ,give the locals a free pass, and change some of the parallel parking to slant parking and that should add about 75-100 spaces ,so long parking problem and it WONT COST 100 Million
>I think the whole thing is bull the stores are never open anyway
>No way should residents have to tolerate having cars parked on their streets all day. Just because they live near town, they shouldn’t have to put up with this. It’s going to drop the value of their homes, and by the way, we don’t live in New York City or even Hackensack. Before we know it, Ridgewood is going to look like Hackensack!
>No way should residents have to tolerate having cars parked on their streets all day….they already do check out prospect or washington place …
>and by the way, we don’t live in New York City or even Hackensack….are you saying the village cant do as well as New Yrok or Hackensack?
>”and by the way, we don’t live in New York City or even Hackensack….are you saying the village cant do as well as New York or Hackensack?”
yes the post is saying we are to stupid in the Ridgewood
>I think thius whole parking garage is being built for NJT it has nothing to do with Ridgewoods parking problem
>I think the problem is that most people won’t be able to figure out how the machines work. Sure Europeans can figure it out and so can the residents in other towns like Hackensack, New York, middle America, Asia, but in Ridgewood wesa special.
Hockey-helmet wearing Village Idiot waiting for the short bus <@:)
>If the people in Ridgewood learned how to walk, insted of driving thoughs big suvs there would not have a parking problem
>Love it Helmet Head! Underground parking should help thems who can’t figure out the machinaz
>Pt. Pleasant, NJ has tried these in several lots and I believe they are going to trash them.
>they work fine in fort lee
>that’s right anonymous, let’s get walking
>Pt. Pleasant, NJ has tried these in several lots and I believe they are going to trash them. …….was just in point pleasent for the week ,they use these things all over town and they work fine obvious the other poster has not been there
