Dog Walker Sustains Severe Injuries

The accident took place early Thursday morning, September 25. The victim was reportedly walking a dog at the time of impact. The Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department and Ho-Ho-Kus EMS rushed to the scene to render aid.

While the pedestrian sustained severe orthopedic injuries, there was a small piece of good news in the incident: the dog managed to escape injury.

An ambulance quickly transported the victim to the Hackensack University Medical Center main campus for critical treatment. The Ho-Ho-Kus Police are investigating the crash to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.

This accident serves as a stark reminder for both drivers and pedestrians to exercise extreme caution, especially at dawn or dusk, and to remain vigilant at intersections throughout Bergen County.

  1. Just a general statement here but I’m always amazed that people walk around busy parts of town in dark clothes.

    1. Where in that news article does it mention the pedestrian wearing dark clothing? I’m always amazed by randoms creating their own narrative!

      1. What part of ‘general statement’ do you not understand…?

        1. Only everything you said after “general statement” in which you try to imply the victim is somehow at fault without any evidence.

      2. It doesn’t. It was a “general statement”, and I agree. OMG. I was taught in elementary school about wearing dark clothes at night, and obviously, they stopped mentioning it in school because I see it nearly every day. The writer is 100% correct, and you are guilty of twisting the writer’s words. You are just another nasty blog contributor.

    2. Where in the article did it mention dark clothing?? I’m always amazed when random weirdos create their own narrative!!

  2. Even pedestrians should be mindful of traffic. I see too many people with there heads down on the iPhone in crosswalks. It’s even more prevalent for kids crossing the street. Stop looking at the phone and be aware of your surroundings. And don’t assume because you are in a crosswalk you have a magic bubble around you. Look before you step out.

  3. I’m surprised this does not happen more often!! I walk a dog different times of the day and take my life ( and that of my dog) in my hands! Drivers don’t watch for the walkers! Where are the police to monitor the crosswalks

    1. Stupid statement. You actually want the police to “monitor the crosswalks”? Think, or at least try to.

  4. Police monitoring sidewalks?! Hahaha

  5. Get a dashcam in case you mow down a jaywalker

  6. Stop speeding how bout that. We walkers see the cars going 40-45 mph in 25 thru town all the time. No respect for the locals and their pets.
I walk all over Ho–Ho–Kus every day and it’s bullshit how people drive and that intersection is dangerous.

  7. Ho–Ho–Kus police dept does not enforce traffic laws in the center of town. They don’t care about pedestrian safety not one itty bit. Town hasn’t done anything to make that intersection safer either.
There’s not enough time to cross that intersection as a walker and in the early morning people go 10-30 pm over the speed limit and not slowing down for shit

    1. As opposed to Waldwick, ground zero for tickets !
