Campaign related Facebook Page used to communicate official Ridgewood business?

Ridgewood NJ, It has come to our attention that a current member of the Ridgewood Village Council is now making use of an election campaign related Facebook page to communicate with Village taxpayers.  If we recall correctly, in the State of NJ, there are strict rules in place for ensuring the openness and transparency of such actions (using social media for official communications).

A big deal was made in Glen Rock a few years back when it was revealed that certain members of the public were blocked from viewing/commenting on a particular elected official’s Facebook page.  Additionally, comments made by some taxpayers were being deleted, and no record was being kept as to who commented, and what was deleted.

We hope that this isn’t happening in Ridgewood.  That is, since this Facebook page is allegedly being used to communicate official Ridgewood business, we hope no Ridgewood taxpayer is blocked from seeing it.  We also trust that any comments being made are not being edited, nor deleted, and that the ability to comment is open to all (blocking comments should not be an option).

Finally, we question why a Facebook page emblazoned with an individuals’s election campaign logo is now being used to communicate official Village of Ridgewood business?  Not a wise move in our opinion.  But then again, you know the old saying, stupid is as stupid does.

  1. Winograd is such a dope. She’s her own worst enemy.

  2. You just couldn’t make shit like this up. She’s going to self implode.

  3. I give it a year before she can’t stomach the negative press, loses it and quits.

  4. A current? Just say it…

  5. Half the Village is blocked

  6. Just waiting now for one of the numnuts on the dais to say that the Village Attorney (whose $250k per year taxpayer funded salary is in complete and total control of those on the dais – yes Mr. Weitz, he works for you, not us) approved this without any restrictions on the control of the Facebook page itself. What a laugh riot they are!

  7. I’d love to comment but since I was thrown off of Ridgewood Mom and Dads . . . .

  8. She’s the laughing stock of Ridgewood. Sadly, the people voted her in. A Saturday Night Live skit in the making.

    1. A lot of stupid, uninformed, self-destructive people live and vote in Ridgewood nowadays…

  9. Cry me a river.

  10. This is the Facebook page in question: https://www.facebook.com/Winograd2022/

If you are blocked from seeing it, please post on this thread and let James know.

  11. Vagianos really has his hands full with this take-charge hot mess

  12. Hmm. Wasn’t her campaign message centered on better communication and an enhance website? So how does speaking to the community via her facebook page align? Are all 27k residents granted access ?

  13. No. Not everyone is granted access. And, if you are granted access, that doesn’t mean that you can see all the commentary and discussion that goes on. Let’s say, for example, that I can see the page. But someone who has me blocked is making comments. I can’t see those comments. This is unethical and illegal for her to be conducting Government business in such a slipshod way. Also, what if somebody post a nasty comment? Siobhan can delete this at her well, and we can’t see it. Totally messed up.

    1. Facebook in and of itself is messed up… on top of all this town bs they’re creating…

  14. She sure loves the camera. Our Mayor will put a stop to that. He loves the camera more.

    1. A true photo op affectionado.

  15. This is just wrong and probably illegal. A council member could set up a new page that did not include campaign logo and images. No one should be excluded from it, ever. The campaign one could be saved for reelection efforts in four years, if desired at that time.

Although I have no Facebook account and I have never looked at or commented on her page before (and therefore was never blocked from it), I looked now out of curiosity. There was partial blockage at the bottom trying to get me to join. That will never happen, nor will I ever look at it again. I felt nauseated.

  16. I didn’t see any government type posts on her page 🤷‍♀️

    1. Did you watch her latest micro video?

  17. Maybe Ramon can set her straight.

  18. There will be more Winograd “micro videos?” Huh? Enough already Siobhan. Get it step with the rest of your colleagues and take it down a notch.

  19. Hopes to become a TikTok influencer.

  20. I watched the video. She shared info about the council meetings and agenda. Keep you pants on people. Hysteria has no place in Ridgewood. LOL

    1. so you are going to write a check to pay for the lawsuit?

    2. Right… everything’s just covered up… LOL

  21. Who voted these people in? Like honestly, who thought this crew was going to be fair and do good for Ridgewood? So shady… Can someone call the county or the state and shut this down? It’s like they don’t know how to operate as a town government…. Thank you Ridgewood Blog for continuing to expose the problems! I love it!
