Leonia NJ, A car crashed into a building in Leonia Thursday afternoon, sparking a fire. The crash happened on the 300 block of Fort Lee Road near Highland Street. The car crashed into the back of an insurance company.

Leonia Fire units were dispatched to 321 Glenwood Ave for a reported car into a building on fire. While en-route address was updated to 321 Fort Lee Road and LE-9 arrived on scene and confirmed the report. An All Hands Assignment was transmitted bringing an extra engine and truck. Engine 2 split their crew on arrival and stretched a 2.5” to the interior of the 1sty commercial and started opening up while simultaneously stretching an 1 3/4” to knock down the fire on the exterior. Fire was under control in 30 minutes. Units on scene LE – 9, Engine 2, Ladder 1, Engine 1….Englewood Engine 3, Fort Lee Co. 3.
Englewood Firefighters responded mutual aid into Leonia this afternoon for a car fire into a building. 3rd Platoon Firefighters assisted Leonia and Fort Lee with extinguishing and overhaul while a company recall was requested to cover the city while the members operated.
