Leonia NJ, the Leonia Fire Department has been busy the last few days. Units handled a basement fire in a home in town during the early morning hours on Friday and then responded to a mutual aid to the City of Englewood for a 3rd alarm fire on Saturday. The company then held our annual memorial service and apparatus inspection on Monday morning, which was even interrupted by a call for service. Today, units were out all morning handling various emergencies in town including a 4 car accident on Broad Ave. and a power line on fire on Lakeview Avenue.
The Leonia Fire Department is 100% volunteer, 24/7, 365 days a year for the last 125 years. If interested in joining the team please reach out with any questions or pick up an application from the firehouse if you see us there or Borough Hall.
