Upper Saddle River NJ, the Borough of Upper Saddle River has joined the growing chorus of New Jersey towns hit by rampant car thefts . Like other Bergen towns , key fobs left in unlocked cars are blamed for a “dramatic increase” in vehicle burglaries and thefts in the past year.
According to Upper Saddle River Police Chief Rotella from Jan. 1, 2021, to the present, the Upper Saddle River Police Department has investigated 24 car burglaries and 19 car thefts. The Borough has had Five car thefts since January 1st . A big Increase from the 12 car burglaries and 11 car thefts in 2020.
Rotella said all of the stolen vehicles had key fobs left inside, and the burglarized cars had been left unlocked.
This is a DIRECT result of thieves KNOWING that police are not allowed to pursue them.
Another manifestation of inflation and shortages. Looks like the west will experience the Crazy 90’s after USSR collapse.
