River Vale NJ, neighbors are not happy with a fourteen new townhomes proposal that could be built at Rivervale Road and Collignon Way if an application before the joint Planning Board wins approval in River Vale.

The Collignon Estates proposal would combine two lots at 234 Rivervale Road and 238 Rivervale Road to create a 1.25-acre parcel where the developer, Unique Home Buyers LLC Corp., would build 14 three-story units, each with a one-car garage and a driveway. Affordable housing units would be part of the project. Two seperate entrances to the development are being proposed, at Rivervale Road and at Collignon Way. The single-family house currently being used as a plumbing contractor’s office would be demolished.

The lot is not zoned for townhouses and neighbors are concerned with storm water run off and additional traffic congestion .As per usual the developer and politicians are  is making all kind of assurances , which translates into fear that the  infrastructure to support the development will not be there and upgrades will be dumped on the taxpayers .
