Absecon NJ,  Acting Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck and Insurance Fraud Prosecutor Tracy M. Thompson today announced that a former Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) was indicted for allegedly committing reckless manslaughter in Absecon, NJ. A Registered Nurse was also indicted for allegedly falsifying a record at Absecon Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (“Absecon Manor”) related to a patient’s medical care.

Two Juveniles Charged for Fire that Shut Down Garden State Parkway

NJ Attorney General Accuses Charity for Fallen and Injured Law Enforcement Officers of Misuse of Funds

Brick NJ,  Acting Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck and the Division of Consumer Affairs today announced a lawsuit against a charitable organization, the National Police Relief Association based in Brick, New Jersey, and several of its board members for allegedly misusing more than $200,000 in charitable donations that were raised primarily to benefit law enforcement officers and their families, and in particular families of officers killed or injured in the line of duty. Instead, the organization made direct payments to the board members and financed their personal expenses, including restaurant outings and vacations to Walt Disney World.

NJ State Police Seeking Public’s Assistance with Garden State Parkway Arson Investigation

Brick Township NJ, The New Jersey State Police Troop “D” Criminal Investigation Office is seeking the public’s assistance with an arson investigation that occurred on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County.
On Wednesday, January 19, at approximately 5:00 PM, troopers responded to the report of a fire in the area of milepost 91 in Brick Township. Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives determined that the fire was started by several individuals, possibly juveniles, within a drainage culvert that runs underneath the Garden State Parkway from the 91 north entrance ramp to the 91 south exit ramp.

NJ State Police Arrest Man Who Fired a Gun at a Motorist on Garden State Parkway

Toms River  NJ, The New Jersey State Police have arrested William Sabo, 22, of Berkeley, N.J., for allegedly brandishing a handgun and shooting at another vehicle on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County.
On January 12, troopers from the State Police Galloway Station, along with detectives from the Troop “D” Criminal Investigation Office, responded to the Community Medical Center in Toms River for the report of a shooting that occurred on the Garden State Parkway. When troopers arrived, they discovered that a male victim was allegedly struck by gunfire while traveling southbound on the Garden State Parkway in the area of exit 80.

Northfield NJ,  in May, Assemblyman John Armato a Democrat introduced a bill giving wealthy casino  owners a property tax break at the expense of Atlantic County’s working families and retirees  struggling to pay property taxes. The bill would have flattened the casinos’ payment-in-lieu of  taxes (PILOT) at $125 million, while excluding sports betting and online gambling from revenue  calculations—a huge boon to their bottom line at taxpayer expense.
