Ridgewood NJ, Senator Kristin Corrado said the insanity of a new law enacted by Governor Phil Murphy and Democrat legislators that bars police officers from being near polling sites, including those in schools, is being demonstrated as a number of schools have switched to remote learning for today’s primary elections over security concerns.

Calling All RHS Marching Band Alumni it is the 100th Anniversary!

Ridgewood NJ, the 2022-2023 school year will mark the 100th anniversary of the Ridgewood High School Band Program! Ever since Dorothy Zimmerman graduated from RHS in 1923 as the first ever senior band member, the band has held an important place at the high school and has brought pride and recognition to the Village of Ridgewood. To properly celebrate this momentous occasion, the RHS Band Program is beginning to plan several events that will take place from July 2022 through June 2023, and we feel strongly that our alumni should be included. Ridgewood Academy for Health Professions Capstone Symposium was Held at Ridgewood High School

Ridgewood NJ, the RAHP (Ridgewood Academy for Health Professions) Capstone Symposium was held on Thursday, May 26 in the Ridgewood High School Campus Center. This three-year program in partnership with The Valley Hospital and Bergen Community College integrates honors-level academic courses with experiences and content in the healthcare setting. At the event, juniors presented team research projects, while seniors presented individual research projects.

RHS Applied Engineering’s FireGone Team Takes Second at Thomas Edison Pitch Contest

Ridgewood NJ, the RHS Applied Engineering’s FireGone Team competed in person in the Thomas Edison Pitch Contest held at the Thomas Edison National Historical Park in West Orange on Wednesday, May 18. The team was chosen as one of three finalists in the high school division. Approximately 800 students forming 300 teams from 26 states and four countries participated in the contest. The FireGone Team – juniors Alex Mueller, Michael Ip, Zahir Syed, and Praket Nigam – pitched their Wildfire Assessor prototype to an expert panel of judges consisting of education professionals, Edison scholars, and technical/business experts.  The team was awarded second place, winning science kits for the high school!

Three Days On The Schuylkill River Yields Ten Medals For Ridgewood Crew

Ridgewood NJ, the Schuylkill Navy’s 95th Stotesbury Cup Regatta took place on Friday and Saturday. One hundred eighty-one teams gathered at the Schuylkill River in temperatures over 90 degrees for two days of thrilling sportsmanship. Ridgewood Crew sent 13 boats to compete against outstanding athletes from all parts of North America, finishing in 7th place overall, winning one Gold and one Silver medals and 5 boats racing the Finals.
