NASA Moves Planned Moon Mission to September 2025

Ridgewood NJ, NASA announced Tuesday updates to its Artemis campaign that will establish the foundation for long-term scientific exploration at the Moon, land the first woman and first person of color on the lunar surface, and prepare for human expeditions to Mars for the benefit of all. To safely carry out these missions, agency leaders are adjusting the schedules for Artemis II and Artemis III to allow teams to work through challenges associated with first-time developments, operations, and integration.

Golf Wasn’t the Reason The Navajo Nation Opposed Recent Moon Mission

Ridgewood NJ, Monday marked a significant moment for the space industry as a US company successfully launched a lunar lander on a mission to the moon. However the company said it is abandoning an attempt to put its Peregrine spacecraft on the moon less than 24 hours after the vehicle took flight. According to the company , the spacecraft has suffered “critical” propellant loss from a fuel leak.

New Jersey Could See the Aurora lights Thursday Evening

Ridgewood NJ, according to the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center, there is a slight chance of seeing the northern lights in New Jersey on Thursday, July 13, 2023. The Kp index is expected to be between 3 and 4, which is considered a minor geomagnetic storm. Best aurora is usually within an hour or two of midnight (between 10 PM and 2 AM local time). These hours of active aurora expand towards evening and morning as the level of geomagnetic activity increases.

New Jersey Home Hit by Meteorite

Hopewell Township NJ, apparently the sky is really falling and a New Jersey family says they’re still in shock after a possible meteorite smashed through a roof. According to experts the  metallic object that punched a hole in the roof of a Mercer County home this week, smashing into a hardwood floor and bouncing around a bedroom, was a meteorite.

NASA’s Artemis 1 mission , to the Moon !

Cape Canaveral FL, NASA’s Space Launch System rocket took off at 1:47 AM from Cape Canaveral, Florida on Wednesday. The event marks a major success for NASA’s Artemis program to return to the Moon. The SLS carried its Orion capsule to an altitude of just under 4,000 kilometers before the two craft separated and the core stage of the rocket fell back to Earth. Orion will orbit the Moon for several days before splashing down to the ocean on December 11. NASA plans to launch the first crewed Moon landings since 1972 in 2025.
