Fort Lee NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of BASSAM PATRICK ALJANADI (DOB: 3/16/1965; married; owner of heating and air conditioning company) of 45 Hollywood Ave, Clifton, New Jersey on a charge of Witness Tampering. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.

As previously reported, during the month of March 2021, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad and the Fort Lee Police Department began a joint investigation into a kidnapping and assault that occurred in Fort Lee, NJ. The investigation revealed that Jebara Igbara aka Jay Mazini coordinated a plan to kidnap and assault the victim. Igbara conspired with co-defendants Ishimeer Allen, Alaziz Dalmida, and Rami Aljibawi to assist in the commission of the crime. These four individuals were then arrested and charged.

During the month of April 2021, BASSAM PATRICK ALJANADI contacted the victim and his/her family on numerous occasions and attempted to convince the victim to drop the kidnapping charges filed against Jebara Igbara in exchange for monetary sums to be paid to the victim and his/her family. ALJANADI did this in an attempt to obstruct and/or impede the investigation and prosecution of Igbara.

On April 27, 2021 BASSAM PATRICK ALJANADI was charged with one count of Witness Tampering, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:28-5(A), a 3rd degree crime.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
