Coastal Storm to Impact the Area into Friday, With Mostly Rain and Gusty Winds , Snow in Higher latitudes West and North of Bergen County

Ridgewood NJ, rain expected today mainly after 4pm. High near 41. East wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. Tonight more rain. Temperature rising to around 41 by 2am. East wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible. Friday expect more rain. High near 43. Northeast wind 10 to 16 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

A period heavy wet snow is likely for far western portions of Orange and Western Passaic Counties. Higher snowfall amounts are possible especially across higher
elevation (1000 ft.) areas in Orange County. Winter weather advisories are in effect for these locations.

Heavy rainfall for much of the rest of the Tri State may lead to local urban and poor drainage flooding early Friday.

A period of easterly wind gusts of 30-35 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph over coastal areas and the waters late tonight into Friday morning. Wind advisories are in effect for
eastern Long Island and coastal southeastern CT on Friday.

Isolated minor coastal flooding along the south shore bays of Long Island and western Long Island Sound this afternoon. Widespread minor coastal flooding potential along
NY Harbor, Long Island and Coastal CT. Isolated moderate coastal flood potential for southern bays of LI.

  1. Got a big storm coming from the west and this Nor’easter…that turf is gonna slide down the river all the way into Lodi.

  2. Whoever allowed the village to install Astroturf in low lying areas or fools.

  3. Waste of money. Plant grass.

  4. Wait until next weekend Christmas weekend rain sleet snow, the leaf crews better get all these leaves up.
