Ridgewood NJ, if the new parking lot goes through as designed, they will reverse the traffic patterns on Hudson ad Passaic streets. But more importantly (and this was never mentioned in the impact studies), is that they also plan to remove on-street parking. This will be devastating to Mount Carmel Church and Knights of Columbus .

Also many current Merchants on Broad Street and nearby are going to get hammered all around both before during and after. Many small shops will barely survive in durring the construction and later in the shadow of a garage.

  1. Why remove on-street?

  2. The longer this continues the worse it seems to be. It seems the thought process was on holiday.

  3. Not only Mt. Carmel and the Knights of Columbus will suffer. The restaurants and small shops anywhere near the garage will suffer greatly as well. As one of my friends put it “How am I going to get to the vacuum repair shop with my vacuum? I can’t carry it.”

  4. Oligarchs require no justification nor permission…

  5. What?
What do you mean “Barely survive”?
their “barely” surviving now because of the rents the new parking garage won’t make any difference. and if anything Mt. Carmel and the Knights will quadruple their parking so your negative nonsense remarks are only self serving.
stop the bitching and moaning an get with the program…were moving into the future with or without you.

  6. Mike Sedon addressed this at the meeting last week. Mike and Sue are bringing all the facts and problems to light. Thank god for their leadership

  7. 2:54pm nailed it.

Traffic patterns? Both those streets use to not be one ways, for what it’s worth. Top it off, the church pays zero in taxes. Build it, and I will park in it!

  8. Isn’t it a little ironic that we are going to spend 13 million on a parking garage to primarily benefit restaurants, and those restaurants are enjoying free parking on the busiest nights?

  9. 6.37 is absolutely correct. Taxpayers getting a Titanic Screwing on behalf of the Restaurant Mafia.you never build for peak business Biz 101 but who cares Rwood taxpayers absorb all downside. garage proponent laughing all the way to the Bank with our money

  10. VALLEY HOSPITAL IS JUST WAITING FOR THIS GARAGES GROUND BREAKING. DESTROYS ALL CONCEPTS OS SIZE SCALE AND COEXISTANCE WITH CURRENT STREETSCAPES AND IMPACT.

THEIR LAWYERS WILL HAVE THE TOWN Bowing down to A yes me too
For their big Linwood avenue garage excavation and Expansion plan by 2017.budget for this battle..hey let the Restaurants pay with a new Litigation Tax assessment..they won’t pay a cent for the Garage screwing of the common Taxpayers
