Washington DC, Congressman Van Drew announced that he is introducing legislation that will prohibit federal agencies from banning any gas-powered appliances or devices commonly found in residential properties.
“Millions of Americans, and thousands of South Jerseyans, own and operate gas stoves on a daily basis. This move from a Biden appointee to suggest that gas-powered stoves could be banned on a nationwide basis is effectively telling these Americans what they can or cannot do in the privacy of their own home,” said Congressman Van Drew. “The American people are tired of unelected Washington bureaucrats attempting to dictate their daily lives. If Congress does not put pressure on this administration and fight these proposals head-on, Democrats will continue pushing these radical ideas until they become federal law.”
“States that have already begun implementing these arbitrary bans are using a loosely correlated report as the driving factor to push their woke agenda. My legislation will ensure that New Jersey is not the next state to implement this blatant governmental overreach.”

Easy workaround: they won’t ban them, but they’ll regulate them into uselessness as they did for toilets, showers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, etc, etc

Hey, remember last year when everyone was up in arms about Biden “banning” cheeseburgers? And I thought THAT was the height of mass lunacy….
Murphy’s way ahead on this—he proposed eliminating natural gas last year. But he keeps getting voted in. Murphy doesn’t get the press that the President does, or Adams. Hochul, and Newsom. But he is just as liberal or worse. Research his views on illegals, abortion, covid and so on. It’s finally coming out that masks for kids and closing schools put kids behind anywhere from one to three years. But if the NJEA told Murph they needed on line “learning” and/or masks, he’d announce it tomorrow.
I have a electric stove top and it sucks. I just bought it brand new one . It was a waste of money, I’m going to hook up a gas line and put in gas.
look into induction stoves. They are the future. Run on electricity but “feel” like cooking on a gas stove plus the only thing that gets hot is the pot and food within. The 2 negatives are you can only use ferrous based pots (if a magnet sticks they are good to go) and they are more expensive but prices are coming down. I read manufacturers are developing models they will be installed under stone countertops making them invisible.
