Ridgewood NJ, construction equipment blocked 3 on-street, 2-hour limit parking spaces one block from downtown Ridgewood on Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday of this week. The location is in front of 174 Union Street.

Our staff wonders whether it was critical that this equipment be parked in these 3 spaces, or could another location, possibly further removed from the Central Business District, have been selected.

  2. Don’t worry, Mayor Vagianos probably has them earmarked for his friends and the signs are probably already being made.

  3. Not sure i would call that location part of the CBD, had to look up that address to figure out where it was!

    1. One block from the CBD.

  4. It is temporary not permanent.

  5. Most everyone would need to look it up to find the address. No CBD customers would ever park there. This a a non-issue, not worthy of the page space. The equipment needs to be parked somewhere.

    1. I observe individuals park there regularly and walk to E. Ridgewood Ave. Parking is free, so it attracts many.

      1. Exactly. But most of the people here would rather complain about having to pay for parking and do anything to avoid the tiniest bit of exercise.

  6. these are NOT prime – heck if people won’t park at the garage and walk, they certainly won’t go over to union street LOL – calm down drama queens

    1. It’s free. People will walk for free parking.

  7. It is off the SW corner of Van Neste on Union st. They were doing construction on that block for past few days. Where else would u like them parked? Relax people and go water your lawns

    1. The equipment should’ve been parked in the Hudson street garage. Nobody uses that place anyway.

      1. On the contrary, the garage has seen quite a bit of use lately, especially on weekends.

        1. yes its free on Sunday

          1. As with all parking in town. Friday and Saturday evenings, however, packed. Check it out, don’t just assume based on some stupid opinion you formed a long time ago.

        2. Thanks Paulie?

    2. Maybe the SE corner?

  8. Who cares
