Ridgewood NJ, The construction of additional parking spaces has begun at the Ridgewood train station.

Update on train station parking lot construction, work to begin 4/8/19

The train station parking lot construction will begin on April 8, 2019, for the next 3-4 months for renovation and addition of 35 parking spaces.

During the construction, up to 40 parking spaces may not be available at the train station lot.

Premium parking permits (the hang tag used in the train station lot) may be used in all lots which include: Hudson Lot (parking is allowed in the 3 rows farthest away from Broad Street), Prospect Lot, Chestnut Lot, North Walnut Lot and Cottage Place Lot.

All parking permit holders are not allowed to park in shoppers/diners or CBD Employee parking spaces or in spaces designated as Hudson Lot Permits only.

Commuters who are currently paying meters or using Parkmobile at the train station lot will find additional parking at the Cottage Place lot, using kiosk or Parkmobile.

During the construction period:
Residents are encouraged to make alternate travel plans to/from the train station as parking will be limited.
In the event of severe weather, work may be postponed.

For your safety, please obey all posted signs and do not travel through barricaded areas.
We thank you for your patience and cooperation during the construction.

  1. Purchasers of premium parking hang tags allowing for parking in the train station lot should be refunded a portion of their purchase price. I paid for 12 months of parking. Not 8-9 months. This project was surely known about when the tags went on sale in December 2018. Nothing was said to purchasers about this 1/4 year project which materially diminishes the value of a station parking tag (whose purchase price which went from $1000 to $1300 in the space of a year).

  2. $1000 to $1300 in one year. And just remember, Voigt suggested it should go to $1500, fortunately the others on the council shot that idea down.

Do you know what a Ponzi scheme actually is? I am disgusted by their behavior but this is hardly a “Ponzi scheme”.

Also – why does it seem like half the people posting comments lack even the fundamental basics of grammar?

  8. And if you check the literature that NJT was handing out, it is a 3 week project starting 4/3/19.
But then again, this is a government project. I predict 6 months.
