Consumer Reports: ‘Stay Away From HealthCare.gov’

Consumer Reports, which publishes reviews of consumer products and services, advised its readers to avoid the federal healthcare exchange “for at least another month if you can.” “Hopefully that will be long enough for its software vendors to clean up the mess they’ve made,” the magazine said, having tested the site themselves over the course of the past three weeks.

Noting that only 271,000 of the 9.47 million people who tried signing up in the first week managed to create an account, Consumer Reports then provided a few tips to those attempting to slog through the application process. From attempting successive logins because “error messages … may not always match reality” to checking your inbox frequently because if you miss an e-mail you’ll be timed out of the site and forced to start from square one, none of the suggestions guaranteed success.

The magazine has also released a string of scathing reviews. On October 1, the day the Obamacare exchanges went online, the magazine told people to be patient: “Don’t worry if you can’t sign up today or even within the next couple of weeks.” A week into enrollment, they urged again to “wait a couple weeks and hope that the site irons out its many problems” because the HealthCare.gov is “barely operational.”

  1. Epic failure, Dems. Way to go. Let’s add it to the list of Obamacare failures:

    1. Web site (FAIL)
    2. Keep your old plan (FAIL)
    3. Keep your doctor (FAIL)
    4. Costs reduced- i.e., premiums, deductables, co-pays (FAIL)
    5. Reduce number of uninsureds (FAIL)
    6. Improve the economy (FAIL)

I guess the allegedly racist, stupid, uncaring, and selfish people were right.

  2. Warning: After January 01-2014 you will NOT be able to renew your current plan (Unless you are part of an exempt group such as organized labor and other Democrat ass-kissers)
After doing much research, my plan is to get a new policy with my insurer PRIOR TO DEC 15-2013 (even though my expiration is in 2nd qt 2014) so that I am able to get on a similar plan, even though it will cost me an extra $250 per month thanks to the Kenyan. That will give me 12 months and hopefully this disaster of Obama-care will be repealed by then.
Heres the kicker that NONE of the media or govt tells you: With the Obama-care programs, you MUST stay IN Network. Guess what that means for NEW JERSEY residents? You’re not going to SLOAN KETTERING in NYC unless you pay for it yourself. Thats the big one. So hope that nobody in your family gets anything other than a ‘basic’ ‘easy’ cancer because if you want the world reknowned experts at Sloan, or Dana Farber or Johns hopkins your screwed.
Any male that gets prostate cancer and wants to get Proton Beam therapy so he doesnt have a limp noodle and have to wear a diaper is screwed. Its not available in NJ OR NY. So to go to loma linda in CA (or Philly, boston, indiana or houston where its available) you better have $160,000.00 to pay for it. Or get used to a diaper and a peter pump thanks to obama.
