Bergen County Honors Dedicated Caretakers at Bergen County Zoo for National Zookeeper Week

Paramus NJ, To mark National Zookeeper Week, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco paid a special visit to the Bergen County Zoo to express deep gratitude to the animal care professionals and staff who work tirelessly year-round to keep the zoo’s wildlife safe, happy, and healthy.
Recognizing the immense passion and round-the-clock commitment required to manage animal welfare, County Executive Tedesco delivered a sweet summer treat to the team—courtesy of local favorite Uncle Louie G’s Italian Ice & Ice Cream in Park Ridge, NJ.
“The work we do here would not be possible without their dedication and passion,” noted officials during the visit, thanking staff for their role in community education and wildlife conservation.
What is National Zookeeper Week?
Created by the American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) and officially recognized by the U.S. Congress in 2007, National Zookeeper Week takes place annually during the third week of July.
