Ridgewood NJ, we have said it from the beginning and after all this , it’s all about books. COVID-pandemic created a massive need to e-books while people were sheltering at home :
“The 2019 expansion of our e-book collection was a huge success given the more than 500 titles added and a 30% drop in wait time. More importantly, it positioned us well for the unforeseen consequences of COVID-19. Since the library had to close its doors to the public, we have seen a 210% increase in e-books borrowed, and understandably, the wait time has shot back up.
To that end, we are pleased to announce a new gift to the Ridgewood community. The Ridgewood Public Library Friends Board voted in early May to grant an additional $10,000 to help meet the growing demand for e-books within our community during NJ’s stay-at-home order.”
