Ridgewood NJ, Due to the extreme cold temperatures and potentially icy roads and walkways expected tomorrow morning, all Ridgewood Schools will operate under the delayed opening schedule Thursday, January 31, 2019. Under the delayed opening schedule, the school day will begin two hours later than usual.

School bus schedules will operate two hours later. Elementary school children who have not ordered lunch must bring a bag lunch to school as there will not be sufficient time for children to go home for lunch when there is a delayed opening.

For students who walk to school, please dress warmly and allow extra time and caution while walking

  1. Soft….

  2. And there was a delayed opening because > ? > ? > ? Because it is cold and no one can afford a warm jacket???

  3. Did you get the Fishbein memo to remember to breath in and breath out?

  4. Calling for a delayed school opening today, the coldest day of the school year BY FAR, was a good decision. Families with school-aged children appreciated it. There is not much daylight to work with this time of year between the late sunrise and the normal 7:45am (RHS) or 8am (BF, GW) start of the school day. Temperatures this brutally cold undeniably introduce complications, even sometimes unpredictable ones that can shoot an already high family stress level through the roof. The delayed opening compensates well for that potential extra stress. So, thanks, Superintendent Fishbein. A job well done.
