Washington DC, as President Donald Trump’s administration continues to push controversial policies, Democrats in Congress remain divided over how to respond. While some advocate for total opposition, recent polling suggests that most voters believe a more cooperative approach would be beneficial.
Voter Sentiment on Democrat-Trump Cooperation
A new Rasmussen Reports survey reveals that 55% of likely U.S. voters believe the Democratic Party should work with Trump, while 36% think Democrats should oppose him at every turn. This marks a shift from eight years ago, when 63% of voters thought cooperation would be best.
NJ Senator Andy Kim Signals Potential Government Shutdown
Among those pushing back against Trump’s policies is New Jersey Democratic Sen. Andy Kim, who recently stated that Democrats are prepared to shut down the federal government in response to the administration’s actions.
“I cannot support efforts that will continue this lawlessness,” Kim said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “For us to support government funding only to see it used to dismantle our institutions—that is not something that should be allowed.”
Kim specifically criticized the shutdown of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the controversial Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by tech mogul Elon Musk, gaining access to federal payment systems.
Elon Musk’s Controversial Call for Judge Firings
Meanwhile, Elon Musk made headlines after a judge ruled that the Treasury Department must limit access to its payment systems to civil servants with a legitimate need—effectively barring Musk and his DOGE team from involvement.
In response, Musk took to his social media platform X, advocating for an annual purge of 1% of judges based on their performance.
“I’d like to propose that the worst 1% of appointed judges, as determined by elected bodies, be fired every year. This will weed out the most corrupt and least competent,” Musk wrote.
Following the ruling, Musk launched a scathing attack on the judge, calling for impeachment and labeling the decision as an attempt to protect corruption.
What’s Next for Democrats and Trump’s Policies?
With rising political tensions, Democrats face a tough decision—should they negotiate with Trump or continue staunch opposition? The government shutdown threat and Musk’s growing influence add further complexity to the debate.
As the situation unfolds, stay tuned for updates on government actions, policy shifts, and political responses.

Democrats are completely out of touch! Panic is setting in! Can you say kickbacks to all this bullsht funding!?
Can you imagine the special favors in the Village Of Ridgewood especially with a stupid Christmas tree every year plant tree there and be done with it.
Musk must divest of his government contracts, or resign from DOGE. There is no third option, the current situation is a conflict of interest and creates the appearance of corruption in the new administration.
