Department of Education denies Grant for Ridgewood Commons

RHS LEARNING COMMONS UPDATE

The district has received word from the Department of Education that the grant application for the RHS Learning Commons project was not approved. The School Development Authority did not rank the project as a health and safety need. Two other projects at RHS were approved, however.

  1. Too bad. Got to love the State of NJ though. Improving a library in a school where kids are supposed to learn is not a priority. Interesting.

  3. I give my money to charity when they call.

  4. No grant, but the work will proceed anyway, correct? And the band played on . . .

  6. Most charity calls are made by paid fundraisers. Little money goes to the charity. I give to charities that I know.

  7. Removing all the books to create a gathering place is called The Anti-Library. If only this meant the plan would be abandoned instead of paid for with our dollars.
