the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, Tony Damiano , has literally made a career out of complaining that there is not enough parking in town, regularly going to Council meetings and stomping his foot declaring that town is dying because shoppers cannot find parking. And yet, this shop owner apparently feels that HE is entitled. Here is his car on Broad Street taking up a prime spot that a shopper could use – on the day after Christmas, which is one of the heaviest shopping days of the year. And his car is in a top-tier spot on Broad Street almost every single day. Without fail. We have numerous such pictures from all four seasons. Let’s add to the outrageousness of this scenario that Damiano lives on Broad Street and could easily walk to his place of business. You cannot make this stuff up.
Damiano has zero credibility. Zero
What a fool talk about being typical stuck up. That’s lazy. There’s plenty of parking even without the garage and you know it’s very interesting even with Hudson Street being closed I’m still finding parking .
Oh! How terrible lol ? .
Are you a stalker??
Perhaps we should start watching you ?

It is so creepy to post this but at least it has no blaring typos like I usually see here.
I remember when the knitting shop closed. Everyone said it was due to lack of parking when it was a probably just a lack of knitters. There’s plenty of parking in town. Tony knows it – that’s why he parks in front of his own store every day.
sorry merchants are getting a $20 million garage , park correctly you ingrates
Tony Damiano is a major bully. Remember when he went after the orange storefront? Good god this guy is an incredibly self entitled jerk. He parks in front of his own store daily. Why doesn’t he leave that space open for shoppers???
The shop owners are the loudest whiners. We have to pay for the god forsaken garage, not yhem
Oh Lordy Tony damiano. I can totally believe this of him. He is an extremely important person. Just ask him, he’ll tell you.
Of course the rules do not apply to Damiano. And a few others
Time is our most precious asset (by far). The fact that someone would subtract from his/her most precious asset in order to document someone’s parking habits is, um, concerning. Clearly, this is a person with too much time on his/her hands. There are real issues in the world. Perhaps we can send the author of this article to the Middle East and/or Africa to sort out higher priority issues… 🙂
the Real issue is Ridgewood taxpayers are spending $20 million for a garage
There is not enough parking in the central business district and your post personalizing the dispute is creepy.
Tony damiano is creepy, not the author. He has no right to complain that his customers cannot find parking when in fact he is parking his own car in customer spaces
Bruce, are you for real? Parking is a very real issue here in our little burg
Spying on parking habits. Par for the course in the “quaint village”.
LOL
The garage will lose $1mm a year, the village CFO confirms that. Only monstrous increases in rates on the street and lots can close that. The VC has no choice but to raise the rates on the surface lots and meters… the question is the strategy to do so. If a surface lot and a street meter are close to the same price when the garage is built… what’s the incentive to park in the garage? People circle 1 block radius’ now, and studies prove if you don’t have a significant price difference between the two, they will just keep circling.. The lack of fiscal common sense in the VC with an eye to protecting taxpayers is frightening. Now add in the library-glamification which has $0 return to taxpayers. Behind all the taxpayer-funded goodies? The same people who led the push for the new hospital and high-density housing. Saraceno and the Library Cabal also led the housing push and the hospital push. They have no regard for the fiscal future of the village and her taxpayers. Oh, does anyone else notice that even as Hudson is closed, CBD parking is still abundant? Often on weekend nights, whole rows of the train lot are empty. Hmmm, funny…just what garage critics said was true now *proven* true…we have a CBD parking surplus.
If anyone deserves to be spied on it is that asshole damiano. He snoops around about who chews gum, who has tattoos, who paints their store an undignified color. He is the self appointed arbiter of what is good and what is right. So OF COURSE the parking rules do not apply to him. He is royalty. Him and his sidekick Tess
Well if you want to talk about CREEPY SPYING, how about Councilman Voigt driving past someone’s house every day to see if he is home?
Yeah, I’m for real. I’ve been living in ‘Wood for a while and have never had an issue with parking. I don’t expect to park RIGHT IN FRONT of the business I’m patronizing. I’m okay walking a block or two – and you should be, too!
Well Bruce you must not be a friend of the merchants. Because they clam there is a huge lack of parking. Damiano is one of many who make this claim. I agree with you. I always find a parking spot. The garage is a massive boondoggle that the shipowners pushed for and we will pay for
I see Damiano has been busy posting on defense
There is parking because the mix of stores is not bringing in the right customers, the restaurants are charging to much and the cost of parking is going up.
Voight passing Sedon and Hache oi box, we all know they don’t live here.
There are people in ridgewood who have too much time on their hands and spy and stalk others. Or spend countless hours reading every proposal from the schools, village, library, garage, hospital and debating their intention, values and cost and spreading negativity on social media. If they don’t trust any leadership then perhaps they should…
Sedon and Hache oi box?
