Does it Only Take A Phone Call to Limit Field Use in Ridgewood ?

Ridgewood NJ, at a recent fields committee meeting Keith Cook, RHS Athletic Director, said he has limited the hours at Glen School in response to neighbor’s complaints. As a Ridgewood Board of Education field it’s his call.

So, is this going to start to happen at every school field in Ridgewood? That is, if neighbors know all they have to do is complain, kids will not be able to play on the field?

  1. Poor decision. This will have a cascading effect throughout the town. Every nimby living near a school will now complain about disparate treatment for the people living near Glen. First it was Pickleball hours cut back at Glen now this too. Who is it at Glen that the politicos are sucking up to?

  2. Just when you thought the Karens in this town had run out of things to complain about. Children playing sports on a ball field? Really?

  3. Why is the high school practicing at Glen School…?
    What teams ?
The field behind the school needs lots of work.

    1. No one answered the question….what HS team is practicing over there…?

      The fields there are awful.

Boys tennis plays across from Somerville.

  4. Must be an important person. It’s a lame response anyway. No willingness to address the real issue of punishing noise generated by commercial landscapers using heavier and heavier equipment. Many have called to no avail.

  9. Well. They come out to practice at 7 am with metal bats and balls in basically in peoples back yard.
    Just over and over.
Shining big spotlights on fields in to peoples homes for football.
If we were turning out any major league or nfl prospects fine but all we have is entitled parents who think ridgewood sports are the be all end all for their kid who leaves and plays video games.
