4-8-2015 Public meeting.
This my personal opinion on last nights public meeting.
1. A delay of almost 50 minutes before beginning the scheduled agenda to hear a “personal grievance”statement by the employee labor attorney for the Village.
2. It was not on the agenda and a matter that should have first been discussed in a closed meeting.
3. Sadly, the Mayor permitted the “employee” to make her statement at the public Village meeting hoping to “clear the air” and be helpful. “which was a BIG mistake.
4. I have lost all confidence our Councilmen (for now) on the public behavior of these matters.
I have been a residence in Ridgewood since 1948 and have seen “many meetings” — that one was the worse..
Respectfully, Dominick Nizza ,Robert Street. Ridgewood
Will it matter what opinion the writer had with his letter, I’m not sure —
I’m certain however he appreciates the “Blog” for sharing it with its readers.
It may not matter, but it is nice to see people involved instead of just always complaining, which in this case seems to be justified.
Did the VC conduct a second vote on the proposed change to the hiring preference ordinance?
New Watch aka Dom. What are you posting on you own story?
The Record covered last night’s RW Village Council meeting very nicely in today’s (4/9/15) paper with an article on page BL-4.
this is the worst crew in 40 years.
I seen the true blue manager come out last night at the meeting. wow they got under her skin.
you seen? wow you got learned good….
Watch the video, at 1:04 evidently the village manager received an electric shock. Or something.
The meeting was a disgrace. Go to villageofridgewood and follow them on ustream (upper right corner) there are 2 parts to the meeting. Click on the one that shows the black screen and not a person. Go to 15:25-that’s basically when the bashing of councilwoman Knudsen starts. It is beyond my comprehension that she asked for some information to help her understand an ordinance they were voting on. Knudsen still has not received all the information she asked for, And the mayor gets the labor attorney to come to the council meeting to blast Knudsen and threaten her under the guise of “she’s here to explain things”. If the labor attorney wanted to explain things, she could have picked up the phone weeks ago to speak with Knudsen and not left her in the dark about things since Knudsen’s request of March 11th. They should all be ashamed of themselves, but of course this is typical of Aronsohn, Pucciarelli and Hauck. The village manager is a hot head. She can barely control herself. You can tell when she gets angry. She can’t stop fidgeting. Scratching her head constantly, bouncing in her chair, turning red, fanning herself etc. Shame on Matt Rogers for allowing the bashing to continue. I thought his job is to represent the council. He certainly did not represent councilwoman Knudsen last night.

Go to minute 13:29, that’s when it starts
matt rogers is small time.
Small time and a nothing to boot.
The three of them and Roberta are lower than dirt. We have reached the depths of low with them.
is it rather sudden the labor attorney has all this info and detail to share?
3:53 My Record has no article about Wednesday’s council meeting on BL-4. Are you sure of the page? Could you post it?
All I can say is “WOW” After watching the entire meeting, I have to ask how could the Council allow a contract employee to publically berate one of the members is beyond me. And well over 40 minutes of it. What an absolute disgrace. They may have taken Susan out back and stoned her . . . for asking the Village Council to get additional clarify information prior to making an important decision??? I lapplaud Ellie Gruber for her reprimand of Beth Hinsdale; Beth could take a lesson or two from Ellie.
Even more disturbing was the accusation leveled by Bernie Walsh that she witnessed Paul and Roberta verbally abusing Susan after the meeting last week and Paul’s bizzare smile as he assured everyone that that just did not happen. Gwenns pathetic attempt to justify the screaming was, wall, pathetic.
And the exchange between Pucc and Killion . . . . priceless.
It was disgraceful that Beth Hinsdale felt the need to impugn the state civil service employee that Susan had communicated with. The best exchange of the night was when Beth noted that that particular civil service employee was not longer at their job and Susan noted that “yes, she is no longer at her job . . . she was PROMOTED.
I think the only benefit to the meeting was to illustrate that no one is clear on the hiring implications of the proposed change. With that said, the issue should have been pushed out but the 3 amigos steamrolled forward on it. I just do not see how this is good for the Village.
The closed session sounds like it was called to deal with a complaint lodged by the Village Manager who apparently has developed a problem with being the subject of public criticism.
Not for nothing, but this is getting out of control.
Our current Mayor went out of his way to attack the public reputation of the previous village manager, not a member of his political party. When he finally had a sufficient number of like-minded colleagues on the Council, he happily administered the coup-de-gras, firing the Village Manager and replacing him with a new person more to his liking, who also happens to be a member of his political party. Nobody on the Village Council went out of their way to publicly protect or defend the Village Manager (who was a big boy and could and did speak up for himself).
One wonders now what has changed, such that duly ELECTED members of the Village Council displeased with unaccountable and presumptuous behavior by the merely EMPLOYED Village Manager are to muzzle themselves during public meetings, lest they find themselves dragged into closed session and lectured to by their holier-than-thou, might-makes-right, “civility for thee but not for me” colleagues?
The three Amigos are on a bloody rampage and must be brought to heel, somehow, some way.
This is not good for the Village. It is being abused by a Village Council majority determined to perform a partisan face transplant on it.
I hope that these people that spoke up against the 3 amigos realize that there will be a price to pay for their comments.
