Fair Lawn NJ, on Sunday afternoon, October 17th, Fair Lawn Police responded swiftly to multiple 911 calls reporting a white BMW coupe with significant front-end damage driving erratically through Fair Lawn. The calls led officers to intercept the 2019 BMW on Saddle River Road near Erli Road just before 3:00 PM.
The driver, who was taken into custody on suspicion of narcotics possession, now faces additional charges related to reckless driving. According to officers on the scene, the driver reported hitting an object while traveling westbound on Route 4 but was unable to recall any details about the incident or the location of the impact.
Fair Lawn Police has advised neighboring police departments along Route 4 to reach out if they have information that could aid in the investigation. The damaged BMW was subsequently impounded and transported to Fair Lawn Police Headquarters by a flatbed tow truck.
