Driver Rushed to St. Joseph’s Regional from Route 208 Northbound Crash

Hawthorne NJ, Hawthorne Police and Hawthorne EMS responded to aid the injured adult female driver of a 4-door sedan that crashed into a utility pole on Route 208 northbound, just south of the Goffle Road exit ramp, on Wednesday afternoon, 04/25. The victim was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center with non life threatening injuries. A flatbed tow truck removed the heavily damaged vehicle from the roadway. PSE&G’s Electric Division was notified about the damaged utility pole. Traffic on Route 208 northbound was backed up for miles due to the crash.

  1. 208 northbound and especially southbound from higher ground should be
    identified as a dangerous use extra caution roadway.Especially in Wet or cold weather.Drivers treat this like route 17 a reasonably flat and accessible exit and entry ramps.208 is far more dangerous than other roadway.Drivers need to be warned especially those driving through who are unfamiliar with the elevation changes at Night and winter months .
