Hillsdale NJ, this morning at 5:11 am the Hillsdale Fire Department was dispatched to a house under construction with visible smoke showing . Woodcliff Lake Truck 7 was also dispatched . Hillsdale Fire Department Deputy 3 arrived at the scene confirming a working fire in a 2 1/2 story residence.
Hillsdale’s Engine 34 stretched a hard line in an up the stairs of the split level home knocking down the fire in 15 minutes and placing it under control at 5:41 am . No injuries reported and Hillsdale units were placed back in service at 6:33 am . The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
Mutual aid was provided by as mentioned Woodcliff lake, Old Tappan , Westwood and River Vale .
The Hillsdale Fire Department responded to other news reports on Facebook and one in particular saying:
“The Hillsdale Fire Department doesn’t associate with or give any info to The Daily Voice. Please don’t acknowledge their post referencing our early morning fire. The news is false and they took no time to reach out to us to ask questions. This and our website will always be your place for news and happenings with the Hillsdale Fire Department”
