The release of Open Public Records Act requests submitted by two Ridgewood council members, targeting a third council member, have brought to the surface a level of distrust on the village’s dais.
Councilman Jeff Voigt, who has been ordered to turn over his email correspondence with a journalist and several Ridgewood residents, says he’s being harassed by Mayor Susan Knudsen and Deputy Mayor Michael Sedon, who filed the OPRA requests. Voigt, who has been critical of the mayor at times since taking office last July, called the requests “pure bullying” and “intimidation,” an effort to force him into silence.
like i said up is still doing dirty dirty stuff.
Local reporters should be ashamed of themselves for accepting every self-aggrandizing “news tip” as a story idea. If there were an anti-journalism award, the Record and Ridgewood News should get it.
Let not limit it to local reports 6:30 national reports are just as bad.
Jeffie-Boy, are you scared of what will be uncovered?
Well 8:33 perhaps there will be a lot more uncovered on other council members besides Jeffie-Boy,e-mails. The door is opened now.
I find it interesting the reason for the distrust of two council members is not even mentioned. Jeff V has been working against the mayor. Trying to turn other council members against her; conspiring with other residents who were very pro Aronsohn crew to speak against her; and basically being an asshole…..since day 2 of his election victory. I guess to the investigative reporter – no – I mean opinion writer Krulish, Why there is no trust for Voigt is not an important FACT? He must think we are all fools.
All this over the pride flag?
Welcome to full-day kindergarten, council style.
I’m no fan of Jeff V but who cares if he speaks against her? Who says they have to agree on everything? Time for a new Mayor…..
Let’s not blame four great elected officials for the folly and bull of Jeff Voigt. The article doesn’t make sense and Vogt does seem paranoid. If the Mayor filed an opra for doublin emails then why would she suddenly have to work in concert with anyone to file an opra. Doesn’t make sense to me. Is the mayor limited to only one Opra in a year? Why would Vogt feel intimidated because of emails on a public server? He is supposed to be doing village business. Does this mean he’s doing village business with Alfred Dublin or the record? Ifso, exactly what village business is he doing with them? It sounds like Vogt is trying to suppress public records or maybe he’s just a fool. In either case he’s not serving Ridgewood residents. If voigt has a lgbt brother why didn’t he say so in a public meeting? Instead he writes in a letter to editor?
Seriously?
The only issue in question is whether Aronsohn et al can force Knudsen and Sedon off the dais and replace them with their own supporters. THAT IS ALL.
