Fast Response: Wyckoff and Franklin Lakes Crews Intervene

Upon receiving the emergency dispatch, emergency vehicles—including Franklin Lakes’ Truck 241—rushed to the high school campus.

Mutual aid arrived swiftly as crews from the Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department joined local firefighters on the roof. To isolate the source of the smoke, firefighters had to open up sections of the roof structure immediately adjacent to where the contractors’ torch work was being performed.

Thanks to their fast intervention, the crew successfully performed an overhaul of the area, cooling down hotspots and ensuring that no hidden embers could spark an active commercial structure fire. No injuries were reported, and the structural integrity of the building was successfully secured.
