Ridgewood NJ, Emmanuel Church in Ridgewood is celebrating its 130th anniversary Communications Director Donah Homer  sums up the festivities:

“Emmanuel in our 130th anniversary year invites you to try something different. We celebrate you, our neighbors, families, friends, and people we have never met, with a free BBQ, games, music, and a movie. We celebrate you because you have given Emmanuel meaning and purpose for 130 years. Our community is our reason for being at the corner of East Ridgewood Avenue and Hope Street. We try to serve up faith, hope, and love, this time with the fun, food, and fellowship of a typical summer picnic. We can’t do it without you! So please come and enjoy yourselves with no obligations.

Our forefathers and mothers back in 1891, gave us a great gift by choosing the name Emmanuel because it means “God with us.” Us means everyone, is included in our prayers and concern, no exceptions! As our slogan for this event suggests, ‘Try something different!” – Come let us celebrate together! It would mean a lot to us!

This event is FREE and will be on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. rain or shine at Emmanuel Church, 14 Hope Street, Ridgewood, NJ. There will be Disney bingo, slime table, freeze dancing with a DJ, and prizes for all kids. All are welcome!

Hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, and soft drinks will be served while the movie will start at 5:00 p.m. featuring “The Wish Dragon” in the Peace Lounge where popcorn machines and snacks are available.

Please RSVP immediately using this form. If you have any questions, please call our office at 201-444-7300. You can also reach out to us by email at office@emmanuelridgewood.org.
