Set in early ’90s New York at the height of the crack cocaine epidemic, the show tracks the Clan’s formation, a vision of Bobby Diggs aka The RZA, who strives to unite a dozen young, black men that are torn between music and crime but eventually rise to become the unlikeliest of American success stories.
The third and final chapter is now streaming in its entirety on Hulu.
Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh participated in a fireside chat at the event. Paterson has hosted several recent high-profile productions, such as Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story,” “The Trial of the Chicago 7,” “The Irishman,” and “The Many Saints of Newark.” Sayegh has leaned into bringing film production to the Silk City.
“When I first took office five years ago, I rebranded Paterson as the home of the ‘Great Falls, Great Food, and a Great Future.’ Well, now we have added ‘Great Filming’ to our marketing message. Hollywood heavyweights such as Steven Spielberg and Aaron Sorkin recognize that Paterson has beautiful bones and is very film-friendly,” Sayegh told NJBIZ. “We are profoundly proud to work with the NJ Film Commission.”
