BREAKING: Ridgewood Deputy Mayor Pamela Perron drops out of two local social media groups

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Deputy Mayor Pamela Perron voluntarily dropped out of the “It Takes a Ridgewood Village” and “Ridgewood Moms and Dads With Free Speech” Facebook groups as of Thursday, May 11. However, Ms. Perron is said to have retained her membership in the stringently moderated “Ridgewood Moms and Dads” Facebook group.

Members of The Ridgewood Blog’s staff can only suppose that Ms. Perron felt more comfortable reading favorable comments about her recent behavior on the dais than being faced with seeing all comments about her official actions. Hmm. We suppose then that she may stop reading The Ridgewood Blog (if she hasn’t done so already)?

Note to those thinking about running for political office in Ridgewood: If you run for office, get elected, then ignore taxpayer feedback and make stupid decisions, Ridgewood taxpayers will not hesitate to call you out for your actions. If you can’t take the heat, don’t jump into the fire. We’re absolutely shocked that the Deputy Mayor was clueless with respect to this way of life in Ridgewood.

A resignation or successful recall effort is much needed at this point. Enough is enough! Her participation in efforts to further torpedo property values in the Schedler neighborhood by building a parking lot at 510 West Saddle River Road is the straw that broke the camel’s back.

    Don’t cry for me Argentina
The truth is I never left you
    All through my wild days
    My mad existence
    I kept my promise
    Don’t keep your distance

And as for fortune, and as for fame
    I never invited them in
Though it seemed to the world they were all I desired
    They are illusions
They’re not the solutions they promised to be
The answer was here all the time
I love you and hope you love me

Bye, bye, Pam. I would love to say that you will be missed, but I don’t believe you will be. What you will miss, however, is the real deal uncensored facts and unbiased opinions about what is really going on with the Village that you are responsible for as Deputy Mayor. Do you only want a slanted view of people patting you on the back regardless of whether you are doing a good job or not or where there are ways you can improve. I guess not which is really sad. This is also the reason that public comments send you to a dark place in council meetings and committee meetings. You don’t want to hear the truth. If only it were this easy for you to leave the council as it is to exit a Facebook group.

I am surprised she stayed in any of them. Pam is very smart and has to know the optics of this decision are not favorable to her.

Maybe she saw the “Can Pam” and “Recall Paul” signs and got scared. We could probably get a good deal on t-shirts just in time for the parade.

Maybe if you trolls contributed your points of view with less vitriol, people like the Deputy Mayor would be more prone to listen.

I have know Pam for a very long time and she always had her head and heart in the right place. Her efforts with the LWV and the right to vote and Environmental concerns were always front and center. I’ve seen her do a lot of good things for the community. I can only believe that she is a) so bitter about the prior Mayors decisions that the topic doesn’t matter and she wants to completely flip the narrative and b) Mayor Paul is bullying and strong arming her. The telling point will really be if she flips her position on the town garage from a “pocket park” to another Pauly garage. For now, its not looking good.

Sorry but she has been involved in almot every majority vote to date with the other 3 amigos….all of the nonsesical pet projects like Schedler ballfied, etc and other things where she just goes along with the majority (Evan, Siobahn, Paul) on and every single time. I don’t believe there has been one instance where she deviates…

if you sign up for the job, then do it. Dont’ just phone it in like Evan who comes unprepared for 9 out of 10 meetings (maybe he is really busy with his day job or studying up on PFAS) but Paul, like him or hate him, is way better at the ability to BS. That is not Pam, she can shift gears that fast and this is all too jarring for her. if you have ever been to an in person, way more intimate, Committee meeting, she will literally get up and walk out while people are giving their public comments…politely but it is so disrespectful and not warranted given her position as Dm in Local Government. WTF

Do you know her personally? I do and have for years. I disagree with almost every action she has taken as a council but I have found her to be pleasant in most settings and I know she is very smart.

      Stop with the personal attacks.

to the person who asked about knowing her personally, etc. This is a job, where she and the other VC are literally making decisions on how to use people’s hard earned money=tax dollars. What this is not is a popularity contest. Get it? It isn’t a matter of being a nice person, she has a job to do which is to represent all of the residents of Ridgewood, not select groups. She stands proud to vote with the other majority and Lorrain Reynolds is the only one who has her eye on mindful spending and appropriate spending like safety and not on the pet project that Paul, Evan and Siobahn have promised to the sports committees.

I heard the mayor and council talking in the hallway . regarding we need to stop utilizing full-time employees for doing seasonal employee work . It’s just not cost-effective if someone said no kidding what the Hells going on . They were shaking her head, who the hell’s running things. Just amazing.

Yes they should be able to cover those seasonal positions with seasonal workers. Not full-time employees for seasonal jobs. that’s a big difference in pay . Definitely no savings doing that.

Who is allowing this to happen, why would we pay. Employer to do a seasonal job how this cost effective for us taxpayers. And with full-time employees doing seasonal work, what’s going on with the work that they should be doing. Right, more things being put on the back burner. No wonder the mayor fired the manager. So stupid.
We would like to know who is in charge. Not too smart.

Of course she left the FB group. She probably saw the “Can Pam” post and was done. And I don’t blame her. While I don’t agree on much of anything she’s stood for (except her stance on artificial turf), she probably stayed in the group to glean different perspectives. That said, there’s more strategic (and humane) ways to influence those in opposition of your views. Doesn’t always mean you’ll succeed, but being caustic is not cool. Signing my name, as I don’t care what others think. Gillian Foley

Gillian Foley. Everyone on FB has a name attached to their comments. Pam Perron can be very caustic. She has a razor tongue. And people would not be going after her if she were just simply nicer. No one goes after Lorraine.

If she really cared what the public thinks she would not say I JUST WANT TO GO HOME when people are waiting to speak online. She would stay on all the Facebook groups, not just the highly censored Moms and Dads than Siobhan controls. Bottom line, people are pissed that she closes her ears (and ignores social media) instead of listening to what people are concerned about. She is horrible as an elected representative.

She did NOT say “I just want to go home.” She said “I HAVE to go home.” Big difference. I don’t know what pressing matter she had at home and neither do you. But the fact is she stayed to hear all speakers. Paulie, on the other hand, left.

The question was asked whether the people who were waiting on the phone since 730 at night could speak. And Councilwoman Perron absolutely said I just want to go home. How unwelcoming of public input. Complete antithesis of civil discourse. Talk about no transparency. She did not wanna hear what people had to say.

Evan doesn’t care and clearly doesn’t come prepared with any details on what he is voting on. His constant eye-rolling and obnoxious comments are insulting. He is apparently a PFAS expert because he didn’t even listen to the advisory council for Green Ridgewood for an update and their recommendation (actually none of the majority voting block did for the record). Siobahn and her husband are apparently starting a sports group for soccer leagues (not confirmed but recently rumored) so her vested interest is anything to develop Schedler and she always has to have the last word and back peddles on almost everything, all the while voting the majority block. Paul is in that camp too and probably made promises and has been quoted in town as saying “I didn’t have a choice” and Pam, I believe, just goes along with almost anything the other 3 are voting on. They should all be recalled.

When the track was built at BFMS Jabob Brown was asked if he wanted turf on the infield. He said ‘no’.

He knew the soccer bunnies would descend on the field like a plague of locusts.

It’s been a thorn in the side of the soccer daddies. Glen Rock plays on turf. But 40% of Ridgewood’s soccer games are on grass. Heresy !

Vagianos’s daughter was a softball pitcher, he is still linked to Fast Eddie and the little curmudgeon that moved to Florida. Hence Paul’s fascination with Schedler.

No, that would be tthe gyro-flipper Paul . . . who claims to be a lawyer but has not practiced in 30+ years and has no law license. The biggest joke is that he was an environmental lawyer…. go back through all of the environmental cases and case law and nowhere will you find anything involving a Vagianos. He was a political appointee in some state environmental office for a hot minute.
